An ad rejection and an ad account restriction are different situations. A single ad may have a copy or destination issue, while an account restriction may involve a broader review of access, security or policies. Start by reading which asset and reason are named in the notice. Review requests and editing processes depend on account status. Understand the specific issue instead of sending the same generic explanation for every rejection.
Identify the status and affected asset
Check delivery status, the relevant warning and ad identifier in Ads Manager. Business Support Home or the support area available to your account may show separate notices for a person, Page, ad account or business asset. Being in review, being rejected and failing to deliver are different: do not confuse payment or scheduling issues with policy rejection. Save the date, visible reason and a screenshot. This record helps keep team investigation and any support discussion consistent.
Review every part of the ad
Copy, images, video and landing pages matter in Meta's ad review. Changing the headline while leaving the same problematic page may be insufficient. Check whether the product or service can be advertised and whether special category or authorization requirements apply. Rules may differ by country, product and ad type. Connect the current standard to a specific sentence or image in your ad. Seeing a similar competitor ad does not prove that your content complies.
Separate common copy and image issues
Language implying knowledge of sensitive personal characteristics, misleading outcome claims and messages based on negative body perception can cause problems. For example, instead of directly assigning a health condition to a person, accurate information about a product's general use may be more appropriate. This does not guarantee compliance: the product and other content also require review. Avoid fabricated before-and-after results, exaggerated income promises and unsupported guarantees. Small text within images is part of the ad too.
Check the destination's content and functionality
The page should work on mobile and accurately represent the advertised business and product. Broken links, difficult navigation, misleading descriptions and inappropriate content can cause rejection. Prices, promotional conditions and delivery promises must agree with the ad. Investigate whether login requirements or regional redirects cause reviewers to see a different page. Do not attempt to bypass review by serving different content to customers and review systems. Page corrections also improve the customer experience.
Choose correction or review
If there is a clear mismatch, correct the relevant copy, image or page and resubmit through the official flow. If you believe the decision is mistaken, use the review request available in your account. Briefly state the ad identifier, reported reason and why the content complies with the relevant rule. General angry messages or repeatedly sending the same request do not help investigation. Review timing and outcomes vary: do not promise definite approval or reinstatement at a particular hour.
Check security and access for account restrictions
Read required steps in the official support screen. If identity or business verification is requested, submit genuine, consistent documents only through the official process. For unexpected restrictions, investigate unauthorized users, unfamiliar ads and unusual access. Strengthen necessary account security and review team permissions. Publishing the same content through new accounts or using a different identity to bypass the issue is not an appropriate remedy. Restriction removal is not guaranteed.
Create an incident record for the team
An example record can include affected asset, ad identifier, reason, relevant standard, correction, request date and current status. This is an illustrative record template. To prevent recurrence, add a short review of product accuracy, landing pages and required authorization to ad production. Do not assume every minor edit resolves all restrictions. Ad rejection, account access and payment issues may need separate investigations; organize the record around the actual notice.
Verify unexpected support messages too. Instead of trusting a link in an email or message threatening account closure, open the official account interface and check whether the notice appears there. Do not send passwords, verification codes or payment details to people claiming to provide support. This avoids adding a security problem to the policy investigation.
Final checklist
- Has the rejected or restricted asset been identified correctly?
- Has the reason been matched with the current standard?
- Have copy, images, video and destination been reviewed together?
- Has the appropriate correction or review route been selected?
- Are documents and support actions handled through official screens?
- Have access security and team ownership been reviewed?
- Are status and dates recorded for future investigation?
